On December 15, 2022, we received our first email from the Council of Verín. "Great! A project for Galicia, our homeland!" we thought at the time. We were happy and excited until we realized that the carnival season in that area starts...in early February! We had to move fast; we wanted to be part of the famous Entroido de Verín at all costs.
The app itself wasn't too complicated, nor did it have any unusual features... From that moment on, our only concern was the technical aspect... How could we geolocate the marching bands?... A parallel app installed on the mobiles of the band members? Too many risks - what if the batteries died? What if the app interfered with other apps on the phone and caused errors? What if it wasn't approved in time for the app stores? We investigated extensively and ultimately found that the most viable option was for someone in the band to carry a GPS locator in their pocket that would broadcast their position, and the final app would pick it up and display it on a map.

While the genius, Roberto Amor, worked his magic and found someone who could execute all of this, we needed to continue advancing in content and structure. That's why we quickly immersed ourselves in Verín's culture. We wanted to create a work worthy of its carnival and, knowing how we Galicians are (always competing with the neighboring town), we wanted the people of Verín to be able to boast about their app compared to nearby towns of Laza and Xinzo, which make up what is known as the "Magic Triangle" of carnivals in Galicia.
After completing all the conceptualization through Wireframes, interaction documentation, etc. Óscar Tapia came into play, who was in charge of the visual design of this project

And of course, during this whole process... we decided to explore the local gastronomy and could firsthand confirm how delicious the 'bica de carnaval' is (there is also room for these kinds of things that deserve to be told...)
